I'm wondering if there is a quick way to keep the columns sorting state when the filtered data has changed. I know the reason this is happening. Just trying to think if this should be part of the Table object, or a better way to filter the data and feed into the Table constructor.

Not at the moment. You can edit the code (e.g., sort: "height") if you want it to persist.
