Guide de lecture :

La carte est de type aplat de couleurs (choropleth), chaque entité géographique (pays, territoire ultramarin…) reçoit une couleur relative à la valeur de l’indicateur. Les couleurs vont du plus clair au plus foncé, et sont découpées en 5 classes (quintiles), avec dans chaque classe de couleur un même nombre d’entités. Il est possible ici de sélectionner une ou plusieurs classes en cliquant sur la légende.
Pour faciliter les comparaisons et situer les territoires par rapport aux espaces agrégés (monde, continent, sous-continent) les vignettes interactives (tooltip) contiennent un graphique permettant de comparer les valeurs prises par ces différents niveaux. On peut figer ces vignettes en cliquant dessus pour faciliter leur lecture.
Il est également possible de zoomer sur la carte, et on peut revenir à l’état d’origine avec le bouton « Réinitialiser ». Deux projections sont disponibles, « Natural Earth » et « Globe » (« geoOrthographic »). La première est plus adaptée aux écrans d’ordinateur, la seconde aux téléphones.

Note : La publication World Population Prospects fournit les estimations de population des Nations Unies pour tous les pays du monde pour chaque année entre 1950 et 2023 et les projections selon différents scénarios (bas, moyen et haut) pour chaque année entre 2024 et 2100. Les chiffres présentés ici correspondent aux projections pour l’année en cours selon le scénario moyen.
