Why do you want to define the maximum firing rate? I thought the maximum firing rate should be defined by \tau?

In Priya Panda's talk "Spiking Neural Networks: Algorithms", she talks about two coding techniques: 1. temporal coding: higher pixel values spike first 2. rate coding: higher pixel values spike more number of times (used more frequently now) Here, you are talking about "rate-coded". However, in module 4 "Learning through Spike-Timing Dependent Plasticity (STDP)", it seems you are using "temporal-coded" at paragraph 2. Without related knowledge, readers may think they are the same.
