It used to be valid geojson to specify a CRS other than WGS84 in the top level of a geojson file. Is there some world in which it makes sense to treat every antique maps pixel space as a CRS of its own (according some new URI newspace), rather than just break it entirely?

🤔🤪 I'm sure we can think of some way to do that... but that's what Allmaps is doing - in a way. The georeference web annotations I'm using add this pixel-space-to-CRS conversion to the original IIIF map.
