Images appear broken.

Thanks Curran :) Will check :) It is a little painful to come back to this notebook - it was my very first notebook on Observable at a time when I was starting to learn JS(still learning). There's a lot of cleaning up I need to do here :)

It looks like the geological patten pngs that are being served from Daven Quinn's site are unavailable at the moment - https://davenquinn.com/projects/geologic-patterns/ I'll reach out to him. Thanks for catching this!

I think it's a really cool piece! In fact I have for many years dreamed of implementing a viz of geologic time scales using D3, and it's so neat to see that you've done it! But indeed, sometimes the upstream data sources go offline and that is unfortunate. I notived that his Daven Quinn's page itself also is broken with regard to the images. The PNGs appear to exist here https://github.com/davenquinn/geologic-patterns/tree/master/assets/png and I think they can be fetched in Observable using this URL pattern https://raw.githubusercontent.com/davenquinn/geologic-patterns/master/assets/png/101-K.png .
