That means that you can execute those commands in Windows, Linux, etc. * Very cool library called _edit-json-file_ which allows you to easily parse the JSON file and also do the updates which are easily saved (without the need to do the actions manually after inserting something in the JSON). * A library called _replace-in-file_ which can be good to do some automated replacements. * _jscodeshift_ which is an awesome toolkit for running codemods over multiple JavaScript or TypeScript files that can help you do pretty powerful automated code updates. * What is a cool thing is -> you can write your own code automations by working with AST Trees (Abstract Syntax Trees) that allow you to precisely find what you want to update. * This is good because often searching for something in the file can lead to you updating something that you didn't want to update. * But, to be clear about this, it is up to you and your needs to see which libraries can help you. There are a lot of possibilities and I am sure that any library will help you. 3d:T707,Today there are a lot of factors which often contribute to our productivity and some of them are: * When we are working on a repetitive task, we are spending a lot of time and energy and even though the task can be short, it can also be quite exhausting. * Those tasks are never fun and it can be annoying to do the same thing all the time. * If we have a lot of projects that need to be updated, having and updating a lot of projects takes time and if you have for example **150** projects and you need 10 minutes per project, it takes really a lot of time. * Switching from one task to the other one is never fun. Once when you focus on a task, jumping on a different task takes you at least 10-15 minutes and then when you have to go to the different task or return to a previous one, it again takes you some time. Sometimes, we have to be aware that the context switching can take much more time than the task itself. * It doesn't take you much time to get good at a repetitive task and once you master it, all that's left is doing it over and over again. Then, doing something new will always be a good learning curve and that's where automations can come in. All situations like this definitely call for automations, so I would say: * It won't always be easy to determine when to automate. It can happen that some repetitive task can be automated, but that won't always be the case and it will depend on what kind of code changes are done. * Always think about **impact**. If you have a task that can have a lot of impact and it can help you achieve a lot long-term, then of course it makes sense to do the automation. * Time can be the deciding factor, but it is not the most important factor here as the decision to do the automations will depend on how big the amount of necessary work is.3e:[{"id":"0cf451ee518f5734c19a54c900831a4345950fb973499d807166f8e9a9ccb029e6048bbd52bfb6ff41f25b55e68db067b2b85fcf48bc9a841720313731528899","href":"https://static.observableusercontent.com/files/0cf451ee518f5734c19a54c900831a4345950fb973499d807166f8e9a9ccb029e6048bbd52bfb6ff41f25b55e68db067b2b85fcf48bc9a841720313731528899","name":"coding-man.jpg","type":"image/jpeg","lastModified":1646868457914.088,"size":3411693}] 38:{"id":"4852e05287e33d4e","slug":"the-lazy-developer-guide-how-to-automate-code-updates","title":"The Lazy Developer Guide: How to Automate Code Updates?","thumbnail":"dff7af66853830edf91724e4e10721c31b2a4df29f446383a28c9e2f73d8d1ac","access_level":"public","create_time":"$D2022-03-09T23:20:15.480Z","update_time":"$D2022-03-25T19:13:19.837Z","view_time":null,"first_public_time":"$D2022-12-04T19:45:25.955Z","has_unpublished_edits":null,"fork":{"id":"662080314eb2cb2c","slug":"blog-post","title":"Blog Post","owner":{"id":"f35c755083683fe5","login":"observablehq","name":"Observable"}},"stars":0,"starred":false,"owner":{"type":"team","id":"fd1b77499a80fc6b","login":"antetmc2","name":"Ante Tomić","avatar_url":"https://avatars-next.observableusercontent.com/66378916fe5953d2e78e36623068fb1075bc462dac5db85522df3f106ba545a0","tier":"starter_2024","bio":"","followed_by_you":false,"follows_you":false},"version":126,"publish_version":null,"role":null,"authored":false,"authors":[{"type":"individual","id":"e11770739ce6ad0f","login":"antetmc2","name":"Ante Tomić","avatar_url":"https://avatars-next.observableusercontent.com/66378916fe5953d2e78e36623068fb1075bc462dac5db85522df3f106ba545a0","tier":null,"bio":"","followed_by_you":false,"follows_you":false}],"members":[{"type":"individual","id":"e11770739ce6ad0f","login":"antetmc2","name":"Ante Tomić","avatar_url":"https://avatars-next.observableusercontent.com/66378916fe5953d2e78e36623068fb1075bc462dac5db85522df3f106ba545a0","tier":null,"role":"editor"}],"comments":[],"custom_thumbnail":false,"trashed":false,"lapsed":null,"subscribed":null,"forks":0,"collection":null,"type":"notebook","body":{"titling":"auto","title":"The Lazy Developer Guide: How to Automate Code Updates?","cells":[{"id":0,"value":"# The Lazy Developer Guide: How to Automate Code Updates?\n## Ante Tomić, Senior Software Engineer (__Infobip__) | A.Tomic@infobip.com | @antetmc2 (Twitter & Github) | https://www.linkedin.com/in/antetomic/\n## DevOps.js (Remote/Online), March 24-25 2022","pinned":false,"hidden":false,"mode":"md","author":"$undefined","summary":"$undefined","tool":"$undefined","providerMetadata":"$undefined","attachments":"$undefined","output":"$undefined","database":"$undefined"},{"id":4,"value":"\n
