` : md` To keep reaction-diffusion within bounds, I settled on four sets of values and named each after something that changes the pigmentation of leaves: necrosis, variegation, mosaic and chlorosis. These four are what pigment the leaves on the cover. Leaves that get none of them stay clean — unpigmented, healthy. Below, the four settings run on the same leaf, with the same seeding. Only the reaction numbers change from one panel to the next. Each panel lists what it drew: feed, kill, diffusion and the seeding rhythm — how many steps along a vein separate one seed from the next.
