Notes:

Our default data source is obtained from ourworldindata.org. Since March 19 their data is sourced from the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC).

Until 18 March 2020 their data was sourced from the World Health Organization (WHO). Unfortunately, in the publication of WHO data on 18th March – Situation Report 58 – they shifted the reporting cutoff time from 0900 CET to 0000 CET. This means that comparability is compromised because there is an overlap between the last two WHO data publications (Situation Reports 57 and 58).

For China, we only display data until ${moment(chinaMaxDate).format("DD MMM YYYY")}, to avoid distortions on the chart (China was substantially more days than the rest of the country since they started community transmission). This should not affect how we observe the "shape" of the curve for China, since they present an asymptotic curve at approx. 80.000 confirmed cases since the begining of March
