### The Impetus 2020 has been hell. The [failed impeachment](https://www.cnn.com/2020/02/05/politics/senate-impeachment-trial-vote-acquittal/index.html), a [global pandemic](https://www.nationalgeographic.com/science/2020/02/how-coronavirus-could-become-pandemic-and-why-it-matters/), [constant police violence](https://www.nytimes.com/2020/05/28/opinion/minneapolis-police-brutality.html) (and don't forget [almost WWIII with Iran](https://www.nytimes.com/2020/01/02/world/middleeast/qassem-soleimani-iraq-iran-attack.html) on Jan. 2). The amount of suffering it took to get here is incalculable, but this past week may be the smallest of silver linings. It shouldn't have taken the state killing its most vulnerable citizens. It shouldn't have taken 40 million people stripped of the means to support themselves. It shouldn't have taken 100,000 preventable deaths. But it happened all the same. As always, our only choice is what to do about it. Thank god people finally have had enough. The number of people in the streeets; the amount of money donated; the singularity of media coverage, it will break records. But with so much happening so fast, it can be hard to find one's place within the crowd, to play your part but also maximize your impact. *So I'd like to point you to a resource that's a bit different—your local representatives.* Today is for protesting, donating, and supporting. But when your legs are tired from walking and the bail funds have been filled thrice over, come back to this webpage and spend a moment with it. Local government seems beyond boring, until you take the time to poke around. What you find just might surprise you. *P.S.
