The elements, or parts, can include people, hardware, software, facilities, policies, and documents; that is, all things required to produce system-level results.". Which means, we must indentify the most simplest objects that it self can not cause significant effect, however, when conbined with other parts it can achieve its main purpose. A deeper separation between each part could be made based on its fuction, for example by spliting the engine into the main machinery and auxiliar, howerver, for the purpose of a preliminary analysis, it is not necessary to enter deeper in those questions. The nomeclature used for some parts was **[3]**. `32:T5e8,md ` ** b) How the parts effect each other** The ship project itself requires from designer a constant trade off analysis from each subject, because it is almost impossible that one variation in the project can not inpact in other. For instance, takes the structure of a ship, if the designer decide to use unecessary amounts of elements probably it will have a terrible effect on the stabilit, performance, costs, and the arrangement of the ship. For this analys we will not verify matematically the trade off in hydrostatic or costs, once those variables need further information. Instead we will analyse the effects inside each element on the table above. The main trade off we will have is strenght and space, for example, if we change the size of the engine we will effect the strenght on the support structure that would be modified to hold a heavier weight, for the other hand, the oil piping system will also be effect in a spacial way to fit to a smaller space in engine room. Some elements, however, are light enough that an incrising in its size or number will not effect in the structure itself, for example the navigation lights. Incrising the number of lights onbord do not require thicker shell plate on the deck to support the incrising in weight because the individual weight are small enought in front of the plates strenght resisteness. For instance, the ship has as its main purpose to transport goods, therefore it has as a sub-task to transform the energy created on the engine room into kinetic energy, however, the motor can only achive this task when coupled with the propeller, shaft propeller, shaft engine, and gear box. The following figure group by elements indicating a sub-task and a individual task when it is possible. The idea of the figure is not to going so further in the functional hierarchy tree because this task will be done in further assigments.
