Interestingly, there is a strong correlation between these two variables in the lower portion of the state stretching from the East to the West. The proportions of both of these variables is weaker in the northern portion of the state. One conclusion that could be drawn from the pattern of larger family sizes in the souther portion of the state could be that there is more access to quality education here. Another could be that people are more religious in this region, as many religions encourage values of family and having children. An economically driven conclusion could be formed to say that there is more farming in this area, as farmers often have more children so that they can help in the family occupation. Another trend displayed in this map is the lack of black individuals in the northern portion of the region, particularly in the North West.
