Patterns and trends in the popularity and design of specific genres have developed as the industry has grown. But, how do video game genres relate to critical reception, user preferences and sales over time? My project conducts a detailed analysis of the multifaceted relationship between video game genres and various key factors influencing the gaming industry to get insights into game creation, player preferences and genre interplay. However, as the 2017–2020 data had many null values and data prior to 2000 might not be relevant to the significant analysis of the data, I decided to study the situation after 2000 till 2016.
