Most voter registrations and changes are done via the DMV when voters apply for drivers licenses or perform other transactions such as renewals, change of address, and duplicate license requests. Voters can also register to vote or change their registrations online (at https://registertovote.nv.gov/), by mail, or in person. Nevada also has same-day voter registration for voting in elections. Periodically, voters will be purged if they've moved out of the jurisdiction or died, or did not vote in the last two federal elections. Registered voters will be moved to inactive status if they did not vote in the last election and they don't return a postcard mailed to them to verify their address. Online updates appear to be counted in the next hourly update, whether through the DMV or https://registertovote.nv.gov/. At 8am most days there's a large update, which are likely the in-person registrations from the DMV, and possibly also people turning 18 who preregistered to vote. (Mondays, there usually isn't a large update from Sunday. Some days, instead of a single large update seems to be split over 2 or more hours, or the large update happens in the middle of the day.) Most registrations happen at the DMV, and most updates occur when people renew their licenses (every 6 years), change the address on their licenses, or order duplicates. People can also make changes anytime at https://registertovote.nv.gov/, even if it is just to change party registration. There are also a sizable chunk of same-day voter registrations that are added shortly after elections. Before elections, there is a period of online-only registrations. * Important Dates for the 2024 Elections * Important Dates for the 2022 Elections * Important dates for the 2020 Elections * Nevada Secretary of State Election Frequently Asked Questions The county website reports were not updated from 11/10/2025 for about 2 weeks, while the county reports were being transitioned to the Nevada Statewide Voter Registration System.
