Text to go above Savings/Guarantee chart:

There are two elements to Pension Credit. The first guarantees that no-one over SPA need live on an income of less than a guaranteed amount. These amounts are more if pensioners have caring responsibilities, are severely disabled or have housing costs. The guarantee credit works by topping up pensioners' weekly income to this level. The second (available only for those who reached SPA before 6 April 2016) is for people who have made modest savings for their retirement. It provides an additional weekly amount for their second pension or savings income above the level of the savings credit threshold. Some people will be entitled to the guarantee credit, the savings credit or both.

The calculated figure showing as 63,000 claiming other benefits but not state pension includes a category "other", which is an unknown combination, which may include state pension. Can we therefore amend the calculation which should come out at just over 50,000 for Nov 22. We'll need to always round down for this figure if we say "at least". Is that difficult?

The bit in square brackets above (line 3) needs to be a hoverable note.

If we aren't including a section on disability benefits in the initial version of this, then we need to amend the text above to reflect that - possibly just by adding a note after the third bullet to say that this will be added shortly/in due course?

Can we simply add the text on legacy benefits here? There are no automated sections. Because of the move to UC, we will only run this 2 or 3 more times before the move is completed (assuming it's done on schedule), so the effort to automate is not worth it. Any updates can be done manually.
Are we able to include the chart with UC and HB together? It's in the resilience dashboard, I think.

Bottom axis seems to not be following chart width.

I think this chart is PC only, rather than HB/PC. Is that right? Ideally it should start at 2009 to show the change in pensionable age. Is that difficult?

There is a separate chart used in the resilience dashboard that shows PC claimants and HB claimants over SPA (and the overlap). We could/should include that in here too. Probably before the age profile.

Just noticed a glitch on all the Pension Credit charts. The Y axis should be 0, 50k, 100k, 150k, 200k, but has 200k instead of 150k.

@Rachel - could you write up some content and title for this chart?

Putting this together with the stuff about legacy benefits makes the most sense. Legacy benefits are mentioned above, but there is a load of text that I sent that hasn't been incorporated. If you need me to resend, do let me know or perhaps we should have a chat???

The total number of households [note that the term "household" in this context is used to refer to a "benefit unit", which is one adult or a couple, together with any dependent children. A non-dependent child, while still part of the household for most purposes, in this context is a separate benefit unit so would be included as a separate household in these statistics.] claiming UC and/or HB in London has been a little over a million for more than a year, though the number actually receiving a payment in each month is less than 1 million. It is clear from this chart that the increase in UC is largely balanced by a reduction in working age households claiming HB, through either "natural" change, as households stop claiming or have other changes, such as moving house, change in the household composition etc or migration from HB (and potentially other legacy benefits) onto UC. For many households, UC includes a housing element. Households can claim both HB and UC only in specific circumstances, where the housing element cannot be paid through UC.

I don't think we need the "and country of Great Britain". It's messy, because I know that technically Wales and Scotland aren't regions, but we don't have England, so we don't have all the countries either. There's no simple correct answer...
