The simplest change is to use the existing syntax for a statement property list to do exactly that ``` [[71]] TriplesSameSubject ::= ( ( VarOrTermOrGroup PropertyListNotEmpty ) | ( TriplesNode PropertyList ) ) Annotation? [[71a]] Annotation ::= BlankNodePropertyList ``` This permits formulations which annotate single statements in a triples block: ``` select count(*) where { ?s ?p1 ?o1 [a 'x'] } select count(*) where { ?s ?p1 ?o1 [a 'x', 'y'] } select count(*) where { ?s ?p1 ?o1 [a 'x'; 'y'] } select count(*) where { ?s ?p1 ?o1 [ a 'x'] ; ?p2 ?o2 ; ?p3 ?o3 [ a 'y']} select count(*) where { ?s ?p1 ?o1 [ a 't1'; 'a1'] ; ?p2 ?o2 ; ?p3 ?o3 [ a '22']} ``` There were threads on the [rdf-star mailing list](https://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-rdf-star/2021Jan/0065.html) which discussed this syntax, but none considered the delimiter pair '[ ]', even though it is the most direct analogue to the current language structure. One way to implement this is to combine the [RDF abstract model](https://www.w3.org/TR/rdf11-concepts/) with named graphs. Each annotated statement is associated with its own named graph. These can have arbitrary names, in which each statement is an unique occurrence, or they can be content-addressable, in which case each statement denotes an abstract singleton.
