This looks great, thanks! To be fair, though, functionplot does allow you to plot a function defined in Javascript: https://observablehq.com/d/93aa05f290e2eddc It looks to me like the real advantages of funplot are that it's idiomatic Observable returning a simple SVG from one line of code.
