How to get the data

All data is available on the project's website: ${link('https://climate-conflict.org/www/data-pages/hazards','climate-conflict.org')}.

You can either download it using the download button or calling the URL programatically. An example of this can be found ${link('https://github.com/aa-preview/ccvi-examples', 'in our Github repository')}.

The data is gridded in 0.5x0.5° using the grid from the Peace and Research Institute Oslo (PRIO).

The website offers two downloads:

${code('Only last quarter')}
As the name suggests this is the data containing the most current quarter. Each row represents the centroid of one PRIO-Grid cell and all information describing that cell.
${code('Full data set')}
This dataset contains the full historical series for each point going back to 2015. Each row describes one PRIO-Grid cell in one quarter of one year and all information describing that cell in that point of time.

In both downloads you will find some ${underline('metadata')} as well. In this example notebook, we will focus on the data containing only the ${underline('latest quarter')}.
