31:T555,md` The Australian census is conducted every five years — for which every citizen is legally required to take part. Each time, a number of different questions are used in combination to estimate what industry a person works in (if any). The following chart compares the gender split of these industries between 2006 and 2016. It should be noted that the method by which industry has been inferred from census responses has changed throughout the years, mostly in an effort to reduce instances where *"Other"* remained the only choice. Industries correspond to Level 2 ANZSIC classifications.
