We asked members of the Observable community to submit a notebook that: - provides insight into some aspect of Black history/culture, - uses data to advocate for racial justice for the Black community, and/or - is directly inspired by the [work of W.E.B. Du Bois](https://www.smithsonianmag.com/history/first-time-together-and-color-book-displays-web-du-bois-visionary-infographics-180970826/) or another Black data practitioner. The Observable team selected 5 notebooks from the submissions we received, choosing those which we felt used data visualization in interesting, thorough, & original ways to provide insights into the struggle for racial equity and celebrate the accomplishments of the Black community. Each winning author's contribution is rewarded with a $100 USD prize package: - A copy of [W.E.B.
