If the first person to declare their favorite Disney Characters is Amber, then all of Amber's data will go into the enter. This is because there is currently no DOM elements matching the incoming data. Nothing will go into exit because there is nothing to remove and no previous data to update.

2. If the next person is David, when \`.data\` compares the previous data (Amber) with the new data (David), it finds that both Minnie Mouse and Stitch exist in both. However David doesn't have Pocahantas on his list. Therefore, Minnie Mouse and Stitch go into the update, and Pocahantas goes into exit and is removed from the SVG. Nothing will go into enter.

3. If next person is Kate, when \`.data\` compares the previous data (David) with new data (Kate), it finds that Minnie Mouse and Stitch exist in both. However, Stitch is number 4 on Kate's list. So Minnie Mouse and Stitch will go into the update, and the update will move Stitch to it's new position of 4. Kate also had Genie and Mushu on her list, so these 2 characters will go into the enter state.`2b:T58c,md` ~~~js const xMargin = 5 const yMargin = 10 const tileHeight = 20 const tileWidth = 20 const height = data.length * elementHeight + ((data.length + 1) * yMargin) const xOrigin = dimensions.width - 150 const yOrigin = 30 svgElement.selectAll(".legend").remove() // remove previous legend const legendGroup = svgElement.append("g") .attr("class", "legend") legendGroup // outer rect .append("rect") .attr("x", xOrigin) .attr("class", "legend") .attr("y", yOrigin) .attr("fill", "#aaa") .attr("width", 150) .attr("height", height) .attr("opacity", 0.3) legendGroup // color tiles .selectAll(".legend-tiles") .data(data) .join("rect") .attr("fill", d => d.color) .attr("x", (d, i) => xOrigin + xMargin) .attr("y", (d, i) => (tileHeight * i) + yOrigin + yMargin * (i + 1)) .attr("height", tileHeight) .attr("width", tileWidth) .attr("stroke", textColor) .append("title") // add title to hover over and see full name .text(d => d.name) legendGroup // legend text .selectAll(".legend-text") .data(data) .join("text") .text(d => d.name.length > 6 ?
