One way to make this map better would be to load the live images in the notebook. You could make a new dataset by scraping webpages in the traffic camera data to get image URLs. You could use the map above as a view to select which images to display. I might end up doing that if I find some free time this week. Or if someone else wants to give it a crack, be my guest.
