The first harmonic equals the base frequency; the second harmonic, whose frequency is twice the fundamental, sounds an [octave](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Octave) higher; the third harmonic sounds a [perfect fifth](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Perfect_fifth) above the second harmonic; and the fourth harmonic vibrates at four times the frequency of the fundamental (two octaves above the base frequency). In fact, to double the harmonic number means to double the frequency. The fifths harmonic adds a new component to the mix, it almost sounds a [major third](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Major_third) above the fourth harmonic; the sixth harmonic adds another perfect fifths above the fourth harmonic; the seventh harmonic sounds a little bit out of tune, the closest note on the chromatic scale is a [minor seventh](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Minor_seventh) above the fourth harmonic; finally, the eighth harmonic vibrates at eight times the frequency of the fundamental (three octaves above the base frequency), you get the idea. `32:T7b9,{ const harmonics = getHarmonics(16); const frequencies = notes.map(n => n.frequency); const findClosest = (needle) => (a, b) => Math.abs(b - needle) < Math.abs(a - needle) ?
