Learned D3 at Businessweek, started using Observable to do my job at Kensho, took time off to write notebooks about Mayans and Galton, moved to San Francisco to work for Observable. Now work for it remotely from the Berkshires where my wife runs Avaloch.
oh interesting! i didn't know that. but somehow this doesn't allow you to get past the parser restrictions on the built-in FileAttachment (though it does change the error you get!)
It does allow you to get past the parser, but then you call the actual function which is defined like this in a compiled notebook module:
const fileAttachments = new Map([
["some-file-name.ext", {url: "https://some-long-url", mimeType: "some/type"}]
]);
main.builtin("FileAttachment", runtime.fileAttachments(name => fileAttachments.get(name)));
and the error is then raised in https://github.com/observablehq/stdlib/blob/d7ff4f45/src/fileAttachment.js#L124
