[**Genderize.io**](https://genderize.io/)
[**Nationalize.io**](https://nationalize.io/)
These three APIs analizes names and output most possible gender, age, and nationality data. I think there could be a lot of usage of these data especially for social studies and related art works. I like visualised data and I think these APIs can help create some charts that reflects social issues for phenomenon. It can answer or ask questions. It can be critical. For example, we can use these APIs to get immagrants gender and age data and visualize it. We can analize the supporters of different politican by their names. We can visualize the different in gender and age of the subscribers of different catagories of youtube channels(science, langueages, politics, history, food, etc...) I have breifly tried out these three and I think the Agify.io and Genderize.io seems to be more accurate and trusty. The Nationalize,io is a good concept but I think the algorithem may not take in account the population and collected data differences between different countries which makes it a bit hard to rely on. For example, if you feed in a European name, Gustave, instead of giving you back, France, or Belgium like I thought it could be, you could get Democratic Republic of the Congo as the highest possibility. It could because the people who name Gustave takes up more percentage of population in Congo compared to other places but it doesn't means that if a person name Gustave, he is most likly from Congo. **B):** I have thought of some different ideas. 1. A bot that scrapt from [**Amazon**](https://www.amazon.com/gp/goldbox?ref_=nav_cs_gb) Today's Deals and post it in socail media everyday to "advertise" for Amazon. This reflects on how people consume products and information and how the captitalism is freqently inviting us to buy stuffs on the infromation super highway. 2. Scrapt real-time car accident data from [**Taiwanese police website**](https://road.ioi.tw/?t=t1). There are CCTV, time and inccident descriptions, map, etc... I am thinking of making it as an installation. Everytime a car accident happened, a toy car will be drop into a dump of toy cars. Starting from a blank ground, seeing speed of car accident happending, soon a hill full of car will be form. 3. Another bot that tweet definition sentence from a random page of [**Wikipedia**](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Main_Page). This is just a fun bot that feed you a random knowledge everyday that can be totally irrelevent or extremely interesting to you. 4. A bot about Taiwanese Temple, you can see it in my Code section.

`4c:T663,md` ### 4. CODE:
**TempleBot** Taiwan is a place full of traditional temples. They are a big part of Taiwanese people's life. From born to death, from agriculture to marriage, people's life are highly linked to the big or small temples in their neiborhood. I plan to use [**Google Map**](https://www.google.com/maps/search/%E5%9C%9F%E5%9C%B0%E5%85%AC/@23.1511437,120.0618236,114431m/data=!3m2!1e3!4b1) and search for every possible traditoinal temples I can find in taiwan, scrap their name, address, and a photo, and post it on social media once a day. Every temple is different and has their own soul. From thousands of temple displayed one by one, I wish to create a intimate feeling of culture and respect and make people thinks about the relationship between temple and us. I have created a scraping program that can scrap starting from a starting area. It can search temples from that area and scrap data. If I want to scrap every temple in Taiwan, I will have to write to make it move to another area once the first area is finished scrapting. The program for scrapting is in the attachment files.

the json data looks weird is because it is in Chinese
