Step-by-step instructions

Generate a Yellowdig API key.

Inside Yellowdig, go to Account Settings → API Keys → GENERATE KEY.
Click the icon to copy your new key to your clipboard.

Create a free Observable account.

Click Sign In in the upper-right hand corner of the Observable homepage. Then, follow the prompts to create a new account.

Add your Yellowdig API key to your Observable account.

Go to this page.
Click the New secret button.
Under Key name, enter YD_API_KEY.
Under Key value, paste in your Yellowdig API key.

Fork this dashboard.

Once logged into your Observable account, click on the Fork button in the upper right-hand corner of this page.
This should take you to the Fork that you just created. A popup that says Allow this notebook to access your secrets? should appear. Click OK.
