i like the use of facets, but we have a lot of overplotting in marks, which turns everything into blobs. can we try to mitigate that? maybe use Plot.density instead of Plot.dot? alternatively reduce the opacity/size of marks or add a color encoding.

the color isn't really helpful here. hard to decode and see the pattern
