i concur, will add this: treemap is supposed to show parts of the whole. the whole being... the outer frame of the treemap. if you show "top 10 airlines" you should add a block of "other airlines", to bring the chart to a meaningful total. but probably sum market cap of some companies isn't even a meaningful total at all. so yeah, your suggestions are valid.

agree with your points, i would add large part of criticism to the fact that skills and jobs are both represented as marks of the same kind: both are the segments of the donut. would be best to unfold the visual structure in two parallel lines or at least add gaps between jobs and skills in the circle. or indeed move to a different visual structure

these 3 parts are each a good start for the "troll" works: make a quick redesign here like you suggested, get a point in "troll" skill track. show em they are wrong! 😈
