JavaScript borrowed concepts from Python in its early days and development and there's been a healthy exchange of features between the two ever since. There's no need to ditch Python or pit the two languages against each other. They actually have a good bit in common, but you just have to learn some new syntax to apply Javascript's superpowers. JavaScript is _slightly_ more verbose than Python, so as you go through this notebook, take note of where the **brackets** and **semicolons** are. Some of the main differences are in syntax and a couple functional quirks you'll learn below. #### Loops In Python, to create a loop you'd write the keyword \`for\` followed by the loop variable, a colon (:) and the body of the loop would be indented. In JavaScript, we can also use a \`for\` keyword to start our loop, followed by parentheses and within those parentheses, we write the keyword var followed by the loop variable.
