Each user logged into Soundiiz using their Spotify account, granting Soundiiz access to their list of followed artists on Spotify. We then obtained each user's list of followed Spotify artists as an array using Google Chrome's Inspect Element function. The array contained data including the name of each artist, their number of followers, and their genres. ### Data transformations: 1. We merged all users' followed artists into a new array. 2. We collected all artists without repeat into an object. 3. We filtered out artists with less than 500,000 followers. 4. We obtained an array of the 100 largest music genres: pop, rock, rap, etc. 5. We made sure all artists belonged to at least one of these genres. 6. We obtained all pairs of artists who share followers in our class.4a:[{"id":"1b3044e48644050531d213e9598448db593e6cd3d1aa0229e65deee81645ec2487a96f21347c7c8d152c83622f54332ba392c381f0f7cb0f76c632a8154b6bbd","href":"https://static.observableusercontent.com/files/1b3044e48644050531d213e9598448db593e6cd3d1aa0229e65deee81645ec2487a96f21347c7c8d152c83622f54332ba392c381f0f7cb0f76c632a8154b6bbd","name":"Screenshot 2023-04-24 at 2.13.15 PM.png","type":"image/png","lastModified":1682338485832.981,"size":553591},{"id":"72e75aa883d5c0f9915f582ef8067536e2bd0e778e89d8a7941997f2482043211a1eb358ac9d86025f6f0e9a89f7827c4f8c2f5c08c8f07bb51dcf17d63f1d47","href":"https://static.observableusercontent.com/files/72e75aa883d5c0f9915f582ef8067536e2bd0e778e89d8a7941997f2482043211a1eb358ac9d86025f6f0e9a89f7827c4f8c2f5c08c8f07bb51dcf17d63f1d47","name":"Screenshot 2023-04-25 at 8.39.24 PM.png","type":"image/png","lastModified":1682447972995.299,"size":18782}] 29:{"id":"8d4076526ba15cd6","slug":null,"title":"Spotify Artists","thumbnail":"08689827fa261307facf90086b63bff390e397812eaede021fcfc357ad12b3d6","access_level":"public","create_time":"$D2023-04-24T12:01:12.801Z","update_time":"$D2023-05-04T12:15:33.995Z","view_time":null,"first_public_time":"$D2023-04-24T12:01:12.801Z","has_unpublished_edits":null,"fork":{"id":"662080314eb2cb2c","slug":"blog-post","title":"Blog Post","owner":{"id":"f35c755083683fe5","login":"observablehq","name":"Observable"}},"stars":0,"starred":false,"owner":{"type":"team","id":"7150a80caae5a3e0","login":"evelynshiqh","name":"Evelyn's Workspace","avatar_url":"https://avatars-next.observableusercontent.com/9bc6976dbe4c6e43d5bc634f75e52557fae281148465618cee7d67114b76d1ab","tier":"starter_2024","bio":"","followed_by_you":false,"follows_you":false},"version":223,"publish_version":null,"role":null,"authored":false,"authors":[{"type":"individual","id":"5ee21571ff3c2068","login":"evelynshi","name":"Evelyn Shi","avatar_url":"https://avatars-next.observableusercontent.com/6e8ad84ea4ac0443be18bb2f0e42fc7be3169bac18c91b5003f00217e93f6d6e","tier":null,"bio":"","followed_by_you":false,"follows_you":false}],"members":[{"type":"individual","id":"5ee21571ff3c2068","login":"evelynshi","name":"Evelyn Shi","avatar_url":"https://avatars-next.observableusercontent.com/6e8ad84ea4ac0443be18bb2f0e42fc7be3169bac18c91b5003f00217e93f6d6e","tier":null,"role":"editor"},{"type":"team","id":"7150a80caae5a3e0","login":"evelynshiqh","name":"Evelyn's Workspace","avatar_url":"https://avatars-next.observableusercontent.com/9bc6976dbe4c6e43d5bc634f75e52557fae281148465618cee7d67114b76d1ab","tier":"starter_2024","role":"editor"}],"comments":[],"custom_thumbnail":false,"trashed":false,"lapsed":null,"subscribed":null,"forks":0,"collection":null,"type":"notebook","body":{"titling":"auto","title":"Spotify Artists","cells":[{"id":0,"value":"# Spotify Artists\n## Reid Randolph and Evelyn Shi","pinned":false,"hidden":false,"mode":"md","author":"$undefined","summary":"$undefined","tool":"$undefined","providerMetadata":"$undefined","attachments":"$undefined","output":"$undefined","database":"$undefined"},{"id":4,"value":"\n
