This line extracts the diabetes statistics from the geojson that was loaded into points.

This line pairs values in the range of our data to the colors specified in the YlOrRd attribute.

stroke width is set with the value pair of ("stroke" , 0.5)

Transforming the centroid points into circles is done in the in the code following .join("circle")

the .text(d => `${d.properties[idName]} : ${format(d.properties[attributeName])}`); line is responsible for displaying the name value pair when of each circle when hovered over.

Diabetes is highest in the east of the state (specifically the lower east), running parallel along the border. Much of the northern central region has relatively low rates.

This function creates pairings for the different classes in the data (natural breaks) and the set radius sizes we want for the circles (defined in radius array)

This code block creates the legend for the data. The values pair is where we set our labels. range pair is where we set the colors to be used for each label. and then we give the sizes we want for the circle labels in the range pair
