40:null 41:["$","title",null,{"children":"Assignment (Data science workflows in JavaScript Workshop Series) | Vanya Prokopovich's Workspace | Observable"}] 47:T435,For this assignment, you will explore impacts of calcium addition on sugar maple seedlings in two watersheds at Hubbard Brook Experimental Forest using data from Juice and Fahey (2019). Sugar maple (_Acer saccharum_) growth can be inhibited by soil acidification from acid rain, which leaches calcium (a nutrient important for plant growth) from soils. Learn more: [Decades of acid rain is causing loss of valuable Northeast sugar maples, Cornell researchers warn](https://news.cornell.edu/stories/2006/05/acid-rain-causing-decline-sugar-maples-say-researchers). Stephanie Juice, Tim Fahey and colleagues at Hubbard Brook Long Term Ecological Research (LTER) site (Vermont, USA) measured “general sugar maple germinant health by height, leaf area, biomass, and chlorophyll content” (Juice and Fahey 2019) for seedlings in untreated and calcium-treated watersheds to investigate the impact of soil calcium addition on sugar maple seedling growth. In this assignment, you will explore the sugar maple data to gain insights about the impact of watershed calcium addition.48:[] 45:{"id":"c74e7e8281ce0173","slug":null,"title":"Assignment (Data science workflows in JavaScript Workshop Series)","thumbnail":"1fbfbdd7212bced044402e6fab3df4967bbae33ce644753acd38779c561e2d0e","access_level":"public","create_time":"$D2023-08-04T07:04:37.454Z","update_time":"$D2023-08-04T07:04:37.454Z","view_time":null,"first_public_time":"$D2023-08-04T07:04:37.454Z","has_unpublished_edits":null,"fork":true,"stars":0,"starred":false,"owner":{"type":"team","id":"37b8270fef17d531","login":"vanya-prokopovich-ws","name":"Vanya Prokopovich's Workspace","avatar_url":"https://avatars-next.observableusercontent.com/9714c75cec2936717048dd309ac9712151e6e701a0f84b1a656a92485a606448","tier":"starter_2024","bio":"","following":false},"version":450,"publish_version":null,"role":null,"authored":false,"authors":[{"type":"individual","id":"21ecd0b9c9af973d","login":"vanya-prokopovich","name":"Vanya Prokopovich","avatar_url":"https://avatars-next.observableusercontent.com/ecf2a95a015425a23502b217ccc35fbf1b476c3cca8036e73d20811c13e206d3","tier":null,"bio":"","following":false}],"members":[{"type":"individual","id":"21ecd0b9c9af973d","login":"vanya-prokopovich","name":"Vanya Prokopovich","avatar_url":"https://avatars-next.observableusercontent.com/ecf2a95a015425a23502b217ccc35fbf1b476c3cca8036e73d20811c13e206d3","tier":null,"role":"editor"},{"type":"team","id":"37b8270fef17d531","login":"vanya-prokopovich-ws","name":"Vanya Prokopovich's Workspace","avatar_url":"https://avatars-next.observableusercontent.com/9714c75cec2936717048dd309ac9712151e6e701a0f84b1a656a92485a606448","tier":"starter_2024","role":"editor"}],"comments":[],"custom_thumbnail":false,"trashed":false,"lapsed":null,"subscribed":null,"forks":0,"collection":null,"type":"notebook","body":{"titling":"auto","title":"Assignment (Data science workflows in JavaScript Workshop Series)","cells":[{"id":0,"value":"# Assignment (Data science workflows in JavaScript Workshop Series)","pinned":false,"hidden":false,"mode":"md","author":"$undefined","summary":"$undefined","tool":"$undefined","providerMetadata":"$undefined","attachments":"$undefined","output":"","database":"$undefined"},{"id":5,"value":"## Logistics\n\n- **Fork this notebook** to make your own copy.
