Thanks for this article. It sums up a lot of things I like about Observable and alerts me to some things I've missed. For instance, I had never thought about using a mutable as a debugging strategy.

Aiming at implementing a kind of Tidyverse in javascript (and hence Observable), Arquero from Jeff Heer appears to me as a considerable step forward (https://observablehq.com/collection/@uwdata/arquero) Regarding the painful CORS issue indeed, could Observable provide a proxy solution (similar to https://cors-anywhere.herokuapp.com/)?
