According to your favorit dictionary, what is the defintion of a narrative?** According to Cambridge Dictionary, the word “Narrative” means telling a story or describing a series of events (https://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/english/narrative). It can also be used as a noun, where a Narrative is defined as “…a particular way of explaining or understanding events”. **2. What is your favorite visualization among the examples in section 3? Explain why in a few words.** In our opinion, the visualizations "Budget Forecasts, Compared With Reality" from the New York Times, is the best visualizations. The presentation is not too overcrowed with informations and they are rather easy to navigate and understand. The visual platform is held constant while the information in the different panels changes according to the users input. The constant platform ensures that the user is always aware of the overall picture of the data, but allows for personalized changes and filters according to what kind of narrative the user wish to obtain. Likewise, the presentaion allows for further details on demand with a mouseover-effect. **3. In your opinion, what's the point of Figure 7?** Figure 7 shows the different reoccurring design elements, as well as highlighted patterns in the data from selected regions. The figure illustrates the most popular visualisation methods used in different companies. Thus, the point of figure 7 is to show best practice when working with data visualization depending on what media you are working in. **4. Use Figure 7 to find the most common design choice within each category for the Visual narrative and Narrative structure (the categories within visual narrative are 'visual structuring', 'highlighting', etc). Check out Figure 8 and section 4.3. Starting from these, answer the following two questions.** 1. What is your favorite genre of narrative visualization? Why?: Annotated chart is our favorite kind of visualization due to the eazy overview and userfriendlyness. Just by looking at the graph you instantly get a narrative and if you wish to explore the data further you can do so just by clicking around and thereby obtaining new knowledge in your own pace and accommodated to your needs. 2. What is your least favorite genre? Why? Our least favourite genre is the Magazine style-genre. The reason for this is, that the genre only allow for a very limited number of images, which limits the story telling from the visualisations. The user is therefore not carried through any visual storytelling but are forced to read through the text to obtain the story. `
